Climate Crisis, HSU

There is no more time for words like maybe or possible, no climate change is upon us. This is a serious thing that most people haven't enternalized yet. At Climate Crisis HSU we are focused on our local efforts to help with the global climate. We live in a very special place, one of the only places on the planet where the redwood, sequoia sempervirens, grow. We have one of the greatest abilities to sink carbon out of the atmosphere and into the largest living sinks on the planet. We will change the way that redwoods are used in the help to protect our planet from our own actions.

We are also a networking group of many other groups of action locally in humboldt county. We are working with Ban Fracking Humboldt, The Community Bill of Rights, The People's Climate, Sustainability Coalition, Permaculture Guild, Fruit Tree Alliance, CCAT, Environmental Studies, and more...

We will be producing a network blog so that local activists can stay up to date about the movements going on locally. We know it is hard to keep up with everything that is going on. We are blessed to live in a place of action and we want to unit the community and the campus for a unified stance for social and environmental climates to evolve for everyone.
