NOTE: If you do not see you RSO on this list but believe you have submitted your form, please email us at clubs@humboldt.edu and put "MISSING - [Your RSO NAME]" in the subject line.

For all others, below are the steps, along with resources to being the recognition process.

FIRST STEP: Complete the “Organization Registration” form in Lumberjack Link [see below]. But before you click on the link to begin registration, you may wish to review the checklist to know what information you will need to have ready to complete the form, along with some clarifications.

Ready to start the form? Click here: Organization Registration Form

If you get stuck, email clubs@humboldt.edu for help. It’s best if you put this in the subject line: HELP for [your RSO name]

NEW THIS YEAR: Once your “Organization Registration” is submitted in Lumberjack Link, it will be reviewed to make sure it is complete and that the officers are eligible to serve. At that point your RSO will be assigned a GPS.

Q: What’s a GPS?

A: GPS is an abbreviation for Guide/Program Support, aka an OSL student employee who will be available to your RSO and provide assistance every step of the way in the “Recognition Process” and throughout the year.

NEXT STEPS: Your GPS will email you within a couple of days of submitting your form with all the information that will be required to fully activate your RSO.

Your President and Treasurer will be enrolled [by your GPS] in an “Experience” through Lumberjack Link, so that they can complete the required trainings:

  • Financial Management Procedures

  • Title IX / Sexual Assault / AOD [Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs]

  • Anti-Hazing Awareness

  • Policies & Procedures

  • Virtual Engagement

IMPORTANT: CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ACCESS THE TRAININGS.

After viewing ALL the training videos, you will be directed to an “Apply fto EARN” button where you will complete a short quiz. IMPORTANT: DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!  THIS IS HOW YOU WILL BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR COMPLETING THE MODULES.

FINAL STEP: Once those are completed, you will need to attend one of the “RSO Leader Post-Training Capstone Discussions” listed below. The capstone will be a 90 minute synchronous Zoom meeting that will provide students an opportunity to participate in discussions and Q&A sessions. It will be offered on these days and times:

  • Tuesday Sept 1st 4-5:30pm

  • Friday, Sept 18th 5-6:30pm

  • We will be adding another date soon

NOTE: Both President and Treasurer MUST attend one session but they do not need to attend the same session together.

We encourage future leaders to complete the trainings, especially if they will be assuming the role of President or Treasurer mid year. You will need to contact your GPS by emailing clubs@humboldt.edu and provide them with those members’ contact info so they can be enrolled in the modules.

Advisors will be contacted by your GPS and given the link to their orientation and all the forms they are required to sign. RSOs DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS STEP UNLESS YOUR ADVISOR DOES NOT COMPLETE THEM, at which point we will contact the RSO President to confirm that this advisor is still willing to serve.

The most important thing we want you to know is that we are here to help you in any way that we can. We understand the challenges that our students are facing during this surreal time of “distance” everything.

Our goal is to make sure that each of you feel supported as you navigate through this time. The most important thing - always - is your health and well-being. We are making every effort to provide RSOs with opportunities to stay connected, feel validated, and remain positive this semester. Together we will get through this!
